Lyrics
Healing came and changed my name
I'd clawed out my eyes & wasn't looking the same
Being Possessed is Easy when resilience is high
Internal Trust is just something I can't deny
Cortisol pours down like Wine onto my brain
Fear and Fatigue will leave impossible stains
Now "Being Possessed is Easy" is a chant that I wrote
Carrying on and smiling with your hands at my Throat
"I feel so bad for you" is only just a saying
That's all I'm saying... is that I don't feel bad
BackStory
This was the 3rd song with the title "Being Possessed is Easy" - the first two could still come out on Lost Decade volumes in the future, ...different songs with different meanings for the title... - the final verse was part of an entirely different song the old school Portland band used to play around 2001... and was lifted into a new, slightly more optimistic setting of being tortured by another -- but all in all, when its all done for, i think it'll be hard to find a better opening to a Holy Sons song than "Healing came and changed my name, I'd clawed out my eyes and wasn't looking the same"... ..the sound and swing of the song does kind of harken back to the Watery, Domestic era of Pavement,, my favorite of theirs fer sure...
