Lyrics
{Nerves that were never Dead, Nerves that were never Dead}
I wanna do the same thing over and over again
I wanna do the same thing over and over again
Get me a job where I gotta show up
Get me some clothes no one will suspect {...my past now}
A Dead End is fine...
I just need some Discipline
Structure stable my legs
Nerves that were Never Dead
It was just too Chaotic inside
To focus on anything
Outside Dimmer Lights, Outside Dimmer Lights
Get me a job where I gotta show up
Get me some clothes no one will suspect
BackStory
..this one uses similar opening chords as "A Chapter Must be Closed"... and it sat languishing for a few years after being recorded at the same studio with Jeff Stuart Saltzman - ...although an obvious touchstone is mid-period Pink Floyd,, there's a ton of production ideas stolen from David Gates' Bread & put through a Vicodin lens...- It will always be one of my favorite songs,, but not for any specific anecdotal reason - more that it captures the exact dead-end feeling I'd felt at a few different junctures and a certain just-out-of-prison & not sure what to do with yourself / outsider vibe... - there's also an early 4-track version that will probably appear on a future Lost Decade...
